    sighting in a NV Scope

I have a Yukon night vision scope, and I am wondering how to sight it in. doing it at night seems like a pain. there is a tiny hole in the objective cover that I have been told can be used to sight in during the day, but I don't know anyone who has done this, and I don't want to burn out the tube.

    Any wisdom here?

Look through the scope with the cover on, you'll be surprised.
My friend has one and sighted his in with the cover on during the day.
It will not damage the tube.

I have shot my ATN nvs during the day with the cap on. It will be fine. Just turn it off whenever you are not shooting. The cap isnt full proof. You can still burn out the intensifier with the cap on. Late in the afternoon is best. Sighting in at night is a pain.
