    Seeking New Cell Phone Input

I am looking at the Verizons new LG enV Touch VX110000 cell phone. It is a touch screen/keypad combo phone. Has anyone got this particular phone yet and what do you think of it Pro's and Con's? Thanks

I looked at the LG enV Touch first simply because we have been with Verizon ever since it was General Telephone Co. (before GTE). I wasn't that impressed with the phone or the shoddy customer service we were getting so we bolted for the AT&T store to look at the iPhones. We had just been given the sales pitch for iPhones by our oldest son and our middle son had one also....so we knew a little about them. Once I saw the iPhone compared to the Blackberries and the LG enV Touch....I was hooked. I got the iPhone 3GS and my wife got a top of the line Samsung phone. Just two days ago, my wife took her new Samsung phone back and got a iPhone 3GS.....this was after she had secretly been playing with mine while I was asleep. Now she is happy, therefore I am happy.

just get yourself a Blackberry and be done with it, unless you plan to be a gamer and play games and stuff all day.

Chazzerny, short battery life is one of the shortcomings due to software glitches that I have read on this phone during my research so far. Supposedly you can go to the verizon store and get a free download to fix or at least help the battery problem. You might give it a try until you find the bigger battery.

As for the the Blackberry and the I phone, I forgot to add one little issue in my case. I wear a hearing aid and need for the phone to be Hearing aid compatible with the T-coil. These two are not at all compatible otherwise I would be the owner of an I phone already! The LG Touch is 4/4 the highest rating it can have so therefore it is the reason I am interested in it at this time.

                Thanks for the replies fellas,

After having a Blackberry attached to my hip for 5 years I went and bought the Google G1, I'll never own another BB again. Much more in the way of options/software/etc - the best part, for me, is that all my contacts synch up with my GMail account so when I need to replace my phone it'll resynch automatically. And the Google Maps software is awesome - the street view with the compass mode on is really neat.

When I had my motorcycle wreck my first G1 was destroyed (don't count on emergency info in your phone being usable after a M/C wreck) I went and bought another one - I was up and running in less than 2 minutes - all my email, contacts, appointments - everything.

And, yes, I know this can be done with a BB, but it's nowhere near as seamless, and you don't have to pay for the BIS service from your telco.

Now, if my company was paying for my phone and I needed to receive company email 24 hours a day - I'd get a BB in a heartbeat - they are good for corporate America, but for personal use, there's better out there.
