    Wow what a difference!

I'm not usually one to make a post and openly plug a product but I recently started hunting more & more out of ground blinds. One of the problems with hunting out of them is being inside a dark enclosure shooting out a bright window, it can be very hard to see your pins even with the brightest sights on the market. I recently found out about a company that sells replacement fibers for sights in all of the popular diameters (.009, .019, .029, .039). I always though the fiber on my Viper and Vital Bow Gear sights was bright until I started hunting from blinds.

Anyway, I recently ordered some fiber in different colors from this place and replaced the fiber in my Viper sight. I'm blown away by the difference in brightness. It's unbelievable how much brighter they are. I can see red better than green but the red has always been dimmer than the green. They have a color called Ruby Red and it is almost as bright as the green fiber. Any of you Spott Hogg shooters will love these replacement fibers.

    Anyway, here's the link.

Well, I've been reading their website and it is very interesting. Especially with your testimonial of the brightness. I might have to fiddle with that once the season is over. (Just a little leary about jacking with equipment right now in the middle of the season.) Thanks the the heads up.

It's extremely easy to do SL. I did 3 sight pins and a VBG scope in about 30 minutes the other day.

Thanks for the tip Mike. I started using a Spot Hogg this year. Love the sight but have to wait in the AM due to pin brightness or lack thereof. Will check out their site.

Thanks for the heads up Mike. I shoot a Spot Hogg and love it, but, pins are a little dim. Which length fibre are you using?

For the Spott Hogg sights unless you want to get wild and do some of the custom deals like those guys did with all the extra fiber strapped to their sights, then just get the SD fiber to just replace the factory pins with factory length fiber. If you are doing much longer that 6" then get the LD fiber.

My factory fibers were about 8" long I used the LD.

When I started bowhunting there weren't any fiber pins. They were brass with a little red, green or yellow paint on the end, and usually it didn't take long to knock the paint off. I agree that it is hard to see the color on your pins from a groundblind. However, it is possible to see your pins and make a killing shot. You just can't see the color.

Mike, do you have any pics of your Viper setup? Did you do a custom install (like the website) or did you do the standard replacement?

Why I thought you'd never ask!

I use the same tube that came on the sight, I just looped the fiber back through the tube and ended it under the light so when I'm in the ground blind I get as much light as possible.

The pictures do the brightness of this fiber no justice.
