According to the tpw our county is part of the hill country but we are on the western edge. Scheicher county

I have noticed by our pics in stonewall county they started growing later than anyone else so are lagging behind. Im hoping 6 more weeks or longer. Could have been the drought before the rains came out there. Been real wet since about may out there.

have been wondering the same thing myself. Have been watching a buck that had an 8 point rack just add a point over the last couple weeks.

Coach Stew....do you have any trail cam pics from Schleicher yet? I'm dying to get up there and check cameras but it's gonna be awhile. Need to see some from that area!

This is sorta' sticking to the issue, but in Mississippi this year during turkey season (April) I personally saw three nice bucks still hard horned. There was more rutting sign around then than during deer season. I know I had a trail cam picture last year in November of a newly born spotted fawn. I hunt in Port Gibson and it seems that the rut has been getting later each year but this is the latest I have seen horned bucks. Any ideas....global warming????
