I would call the state park folks and let them know that, one of their targets eat your arrows. No seriously, lube your arrows next time you shoot at a pressed target, or they will eat your carbons. I use Chop Stick lip balm during 3-D season cheap and works great.

Take Ivory soap and cut it up into 2x2 squares and drop it in plasti-dip.....You can then just push your arrow through and soap the shaft before you shoot.

I have used a piece of 1" PVC tube about 5 " long that is capped at both ends. One cap has a hole drilled larger than the diameter of the arrow shaft.
BEFORE gluing the cap with the hole take a piece of heavy paper toweling and fold it and roll around an arrow shaft it so it fits inside the PVC and when the arrow is removed there is an opening in the center of the papertowel tube.
Put the rolled up paper towel into the PVC and glue the other end cap on.
Put some transmission fluid (or non-drying lube) of your choice in the PVC tube via the hole you drilled , to dampen the paper towel inside.

Now you have an enclosed arrow lube container that you simply put the arrow to shoot into the "lube tube" and it will slicken the first few inches of the arrow.
This will make arrow removal very easy on 3-D targets.
You can clean your arrows if you use the same ones to hunt with............I used the identical arrow set up for hunting and 3-D but kept them separated ( 6 for hunting-6 for 3-D).
Worked great for me and just added a small amount of "fluid" as needed to the tube that I attached to my 3-D quiver.

            pazthru,
Great name, great avatar, and great idea on the arrow lubricator. My buddy told me another way he would lube an arrow, but it isn't appropriate to be repeated.

I did call the Park Office this morning and they said that nothing has been turned in. Worse yet, a guy had put out an "expensive" trail camera last week in the park. Cabled and locked it. Poof. Gone without a trace. Well, I am out $30. And I still have 7 arrows left to practice/hunt with. So I can count my blessing. You can bet that I will be lubing up an arrow and shooting it as a test arrow before throwing 3 down range again.

Good lesson learned. I am going to laugh with you about this. I have this 3-D Hog target that has been rough to pull arrows from. I had a buddy bend three of his arrows trying to get them out. We took the hog target to the deer lease for all of the newcomers. They shoot one arrow. We stop them from shooting another and then we get a good laugh out of it. I think we are about to open up on the Hog with rifles soon.
