    2008 F250 Navigation system questions

    Good afternoon all,

I just bought a used 08' F250 King Ranch, Crew Cab, 4X4, Diesel. It came with the OEM Navigation system but it doesn't have Sirius. I'm wanting to hook Sirius up through the Navs but don't know what I should buy. I heard there is something that I can just hook to the back of the navs and it would work.

Any help would be wonderful. If you have the model of the product or a link that would be great as well.

Second question: I'm wanting to put Bluetooth through my navs as well. I have a blackberry curve and would like everything to go through the Navigation system. Please let me know what product you used.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Jeremy

I thought that Sirius came on that year model? The "free trial" subscription may have expired if so.

Does that year model have the Sync system?

I would definitely direct wire it. I have the version that goes around the antennae and it's a pain having to jump frequencies from time to time.

I can't help with how to do it, but I personally would pay someone to do it rather than take on disassembling the dash and pulling the radio out.

Before doing anything, I would check with the dealer to see if they have a factory option that plugs into existing wiring. I saw that Ford also has the remote start feature for your vehicle. I have one on my 2001 F250 and I absolutely love it for getting the truck warmed up while getting dressed to go hunting. I grin ear to ear every time I use it on cold mornings!

if you have Verizon it can not be done they will not share there satellite but if you don't go to your nearest Radio Shack they will have everything you need at 1/2 the price as the phone stores and or the other electronic stores as Fry s or Best Buy

Thanks everyone, but i'm needing to know if I can buy a tuner or something to make Sirius work with my factory navs. I called the factory and they said it would be about $460 installed and $400 just for the part. I find that hard to believe. If anyone has an insight on this please let me know.

And I think I'm going with the Parrot Bluetooth.

I do not find that hard to believe. I recently looked at Nissan for an aftermarket iPod adapter for my wife's '06 Murano. Will be close to 4300 installed. Doesn't surprise me at all.
