    AR help

How do I take the front post sight off an AR barrel? It looks like it is press fit with pins at the bottom.

This video is installing a free float handguard but I believe it shows how to remove the sight block as well. It's pretty simple other than they are tapered pins and have to be removed and installed in a certain direction.

Mike nailed that one on the head, the tapered pins are removeable with a punch and hammer.

Yep, gotta take off the flash suppressor as well. Do you have another gas block to go on it?

Dremel..thats what I did if your installing a freefloat that will cover the gas block. Best gas block is factory stock gas block.

Use a small punch and a hammer.
            That easy.
Then unscrew the flash hider and put the new one on, screw on flash hider - then tap in the pins.

            wallah - done..

Just remember though......those pins are tapered and will only come out in one direction.

Looks like you have gotton the answers you needed, it is very easy , just need a small brass punch and a hammer... when you get the pins out just tap front sight base very lightly and it will begin to come off, you will notice that the gas tube will come off with it. If you are swapping out the gas block with a better one, you will have one small tiny pin in the front sight base to remove, just get a small brass punch and tap lightly and then reassemble....
