I can't sleep at nights just thinkin about it! I just started bowhunting this year...this will be my first season. I was in the blind over the 4th hunting for Axis. I had two whitetail doe at 7 and 10 yards!

I am sure they will be 70 yards away in October! Can't wait though!

I will actually get to hunt on the 3rd and the morning of the 4th.
It takes me 5 hours to get home from the lease, and I have to drive 7 hours to Houma,La on the 5th.

so sunday afternoon and all of monday will be spent driving.....but it will be worth it to be in the stand on opening morning!

35 days till opening day in New Mexico. I was wide awake at 0330 this morning thinking about it....worrying if my shoulder will be up to it after the rotator cuff surgery. My therapist developed a routine for me to work on with 3 bungee cords hung in the door crack. I haven't shot my bow since April but this bungee cord deal is good therapy. I think I'll be ready....plan to practice shoot my bow next week. I've got to keep my string alive.....a mule deer buck every September for four years. I gotta get number 5 this year! Yep.....I've got the fever!

Now having to hunt Public Land. I am more confused than ever.

Can't wait myself. Crazy how we can set out there and sweat our butts off and still think it is the greatest time ever. I was actually in my ground blind last season with absolutely nothing on trying to stay cooler. Bet the deer would have had a good laugh if they could have seen me. I know my wife laughed at me when I told her.

I'm ready for sure. I've been talkin' about it for a month now. This year has me in more anticipation than previous years for some reason.
