Any one done the paper sack

wall cover? Might be better for the DIY area but thought I'd try it here first.
Looking to get do's and don'ts for covering my entry way using the brown paper sack method. I've seen the finished product some and it has a rustic/leather look to it when done properly. I can't find any info on how to do it properly though!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I have done it several years ago. If I remember right my wife had crumpled up the paper and dipped in in a water and glue concoction, then put it on the wall and sort of smoothed it down. That's about all I got.

Never heard of it, here's a picture

I googled <brown paper bag wallpaper> and found that web site and a bunch of others, but I'd like to hear from somebody who actually did it. My ex-neighbor did a table at home with faux painting learned at an hour course at the local Home Depot, did one for a friend, and it grew into a full time business doing everything from small objects to walls and cabinets in expensive houses.

Saw a Ranch hands house last year and his wife was doing this while we was there and all I could think was " Boy this house would burn down quick "

Sherwinn Williams used to have some pretty good instructions on doing this. You might check with your local store.

My wife did the wall of her office when she worked for our church. The church is here in Burleson. If they have not changed it I'm sure they would let you look at it.

That's pretty mush it. And don't use thin paper. I have used the 3' roll paper that you can get in the paint dept at home depot.

My bride did our office in the house in Victoria.
It's a really simple process. Use a roll of craft paper that you can buy at Homo Depot of Blowes, instead of paper sacks. You tear it up into random sized pieces and then stick it to the wall with wall paper paste. After it's dry, you sponge over it with glaze mixed with brown tempera paint to give it an uneven color and to seal it.

The dark brown spot is where a mirror was hanging and protected from the sunlight.

Yep - easy as pie. Tear it into strips and crumple it. Brush it with wallpaper paste and smoothe it out. When it dryys, spray over with clear urethane.

There was a little table in front of it ... you'd never notice it!
