    Where to propose

I got the ring and I'm ready. I'm new to the Austin area and am trying to come up with proposal ideas. Any ideas in or around Austin within two hours. I do not want to propose in a restrraunt something out side.

Find a romantic spot on a lake. I know the lake levels are low, but there has to be somewhere.

Don't propose around dinner. Come up with something completely unique and romantic. Believe me, a woman NEVER forgets how a man proposes...make it special!

If it was fall or winter I would say on top of Enchanted Rock by Fredricksburg. But you both might die of heat stroke before you get there this time of year.

If you want something memorable you could do something when the bats come out from under the South Congress Bridge. Thats always pretty cool to see.

Sunset on the Dam at Canyon Lake. Have a B&B rented near by.

Mt. Bonnell is a popular overlook. It overlooks Lake Austin from the highest natural point in Travis Co I believe. Might want to scout it out first, it's a freakin' hike to get to the top of that sucker. It is best late at night when the foot traffic dies down. You'll have the best view then too with the lights. To get there, take Mo-Pac to 2222. Go west about 1 mile. Turn south on Mt. Bonnell Road and take it till it ends. It is VERY curvey and she may think you're taking her some place to kill her! Like I said, scout it out.
