Prayers for a good surgeon and a quick recovery.
I've also has L4, L5 and S1 fused. It ain't a cure all but it's better than not doing it...
What happened to cause this? How long have you been having problems and have you exhausted all therapies and treatments? I tried everything for several years before going under the knife. Pick a good doctor and maybe even get a second opinion. Any doctor worth a darn would not mind a patient getting a second opinion.
I went back to work (inside work) after 2 weeks and quit them pain pills after a few days. Without them pills I would know if I was doing something wrong or too much of something. Follow all orders from doctor and your therapist to the letter if you want to get better. It's tough but cowboy up and do it!!

My wife had an L5 S1 laminectomy 20+ years ago instead of a fusion, and it fixed the problem and all the pain. She had the head of neurosurgery at Pennsylvania Hospital (the oldest medical institution in the western hemisphere). The funny thing was Dr. Simeon made no bones about his flat-*** refusal to operate on an attorney. He said they had caused him so much pain, the least he could do was reciprocate. I'm not kidding.

If you miss elk, you miss it. It's not worth messing up the surgery with a slip and fall somewhere. I'll be missing the '09 season, I'll see you in the mountains in '10

Hi Honey prayers sent, I will always be here for u!!! I love you and somehow we always make it through this crap that we are dealing with!!

Rsatt 15 Min's after we found out that Brian had to have this done I got the call from the Kidney Dr. I will have to leave during Brian's surgery to go see him on Monday. We will find out if they want to remove it or if i start a new treatment...When it rains it pours!!!

Mikey Squeeze Squeeze Brian has had treatments. And in the past week it has gotten to the point he has been coming home more the working...So i called the Dr yesterday and she was not in so he got to see a new Dr. His disk is completely gone. This Dr said this is going to be the only thing to help him.....From what i understand they will be putting rods and pins in his back
