They will probably call you back once they cannot get anyone to pay that for 200 average acres!

I would start looking for land to buy, just to never have to worry about leasing again.

Got tired of that and bought my own place. Now I'm tired of hunting by myself, it's the camp part that I like, so I now have a lease too. Owning isn't always what it's cracked up to be, but you can make any improvements and the price doesn't change.

She doubled the price on us. Last year there were 3 of us on it which wasn't a problem because we were rarely there at the same time.

Last year all she wanted to do was get enough to pay her taxes; not sure what's going through her head this year. Funny thing is her son told her forget it. He's going to inherit 1/3 of a section not far from there, and we can go there for free. Last year we were wanting to help his mom out.

I'd love to buy some property, but Texas Tech gets all of my extra land buying dollars right now. Besides, Mrs Soap and I have just about decided that we would rather have a condo at Port A. Cheaper, and we'll get more use out of it.

THere was somebody on here the other night offering spots for $6500. The cost of leasing is getting more and more expensive. The option of buying your own place is attractive but it usually involves lots more money output. More and more people are buying places to hunt and that is also driving up lease costs (less land available to be leased because the owners are hunting it)

Keep your eyes and ears open because you never know when an opportunity will come up ;b
