    Mechanicals ?

Just wondering what kind of target you guys use when practicing with mechanical heads? Just a regular broadhead target? Or something else. Seems to me a regular broadhead target would be tough on the blades. I dont have a lot of experience with mechs but thought I might try some this year. Thanks

most of them have a practice head that does not deploy

I shot into my block for along time until my lab ate it.
I just use the practice head that came with my RAGE 2 blade and my hunting heads are none the worse for wear...

I only use the Rage's and they have a extra head they send in the package that doesnt deploy. That way you can see how you arrow will fly with that broadhead.

If your bow is tuned properly you don't need to practice with broadheads.Just sayin'.

I sacrefice a package of heads to practice, and even with a properly tuned bow some head fly just a little different.

I use a block target and a pack of blades. Want to get a KME sharpener so I can get them sharp again.

I use a block and 3d deer target, I do not re-use the head.... The heads that I use for practice are just that, practice heads!!!! Brand new heads go in the field with me...

If it's an over the top mechanical, just use some fishing line or floss to wrap around the blades so they won't deploy. I do this all the time. Works for me shooting into a Block target.
