I have recently graduated with a degree in GIS and while looking for a job I am thinking of starting my own small business making aerial maps for hunting/recreational purposes among other things. I haven't yet nailed down the price because I'm still looking for the best printing option but it should be in the $50-75 range depending on map dimensions/quality/volume. These maps will be high quality poster size based on 2008 imagery but I do have some 2009 imagery for East Texas. I will also be able to add in some contour lines if you desire. I wanted to send out some feelers to gauge interest in this project, email me at mparkinson50@gmail.com, if interested or if you have questions.

this is a fledgling operation in every sense of the word, i just noticed a lot of fellow hunters resort to using multiple google earth 8.5x11 printouts taped together and it drove me nuts. i havent made any money yet, like i said this is really just to gauge interest and see if this is something worth pursuing.
what i could do is create a the digital map and send it out as a large jpeg and let the customer print it or do with it what they like.

If you are serious about this you should look into buying your own plotter. I was a surveyor for several years, had a plotter and wanted to do this, but interest in it was poor, it is just to easy to pull it off google maps and take it to kinkos. A good plotter can run you as much as 25K ( I am sure you could get one for second hand much cheaper), but then you could print maps at your leisure, in any size you wanted and bring your price down to about $15-20 for printed maps. But, what do I know!
