this is going to be a worthless without pics but I finished my new gun and went to the range and HOT DANG. I've never shot .5 moa but at 50 yards i had a three shot string that looked like a diamond dead center on the 10.
Spec's of the new gun LMT upper and lower, Magpul CTR and MOE, ARM BUIS, Aimpoint micro h-1 on a larue tall mount, Larue mid length rail.
Put three hundred rounds through it this weekend, took me a bit longer to sight in I had a little trouble at first with the aimpoint and making adjustements in the wrong direction.
I did co-witness the irons and red dot, shot with the aimpoint alone, the irons alone then for the thrill of it co-witnessed.
Very fast gun compared to the Rock River which was a tank. I really wanted a gun that I could take to a carbine class. I shot it from both sides standing up and it's much easier to keep the light gun on target. I also went from a single point sling to a three point and found it helped me brace the gun better and kept it more stable while shooting.
The h-1/t-1 was super, its body is so small that with both eyes open I got a reference on the dot but it was almost as if the sight body was gone the dot was all that i saw. I put an eotech 516 on my rra and i like the eotech for painting the target but the precision is much stronger on the aimpoint.
Still challenged shooting with both eyes open on the right side since i'm left eye dominant. I can shoot on both sides but would still call my right side my strong side.
I like the two stage trigger on my RRA better than this LMT so I may look at changing that in the future. Whatever the argument I went with a 50 yard zero. I'll shoot longer ranges in the next couple of weeks.
Next project is to make the RRA a long range gun with a magnified scope and bipod.
As with anything else I bought the RRA, shot it and started to learn what i liked and didn't like. The LMT is a better gun but also I purchased what i wanted based on experience vs what I'd read.
