I stopped by Ultramatic Feeders the other day and was looking at their units (timer, motor & solar panel) They looked easy to use and has a 3 year warranty. Looks like a great product. I was planning on building my own feeder and getting a timer/motor.

180 bucks. don't know if I can swing that

They have a BUNCH of stuff in that place. Great people that are willing to help too.

better to be cheap on the barrel, legs and lid than the timer/control unit. What good does cheap do if it doesn't work or you battle it constantly...?

Sometimes in life you need to open up that wallet and buy something that will last...the controller/timer unit on a deer feeder is one of them...and $34 is cheap

I have a handful of head units but just need timers....all have been gone through and work fine, I build the rest of the contraptions...timers are the biggest expense...if I could figure out how to make those myself, well...I would

one of these days I will engineer one....

The"Timer" at Ultramatic Feeder's is about as good as it gets! Built tuff, reliable and easy to use.

UltraKarl also has several other timers at different prices and also sells components.

Give him a call. He is a nice fella!

Agree - this and optics are two glaring areas that you probably don't want to budget-minded.

However BA products manufactures this unit for Remington and it is well built, versatile (6V or 12V application) and inexpensive.

Like I said $34 is cheap.....

Buy "The Timer" timer at Ultramatic for $65 and never have to worry about building your own timer in the future...

hmm....the 'timer' timer looks like the honey creek farm stuff out of burnet that used to be in the sportsmans warehouse stores....

that remington looks exactly like the spintech stuff....

                          hmm...

ok, $34 is cheap....man that's 5 or so bags of corn....

I don't like spending a ton on this stuff because I do not 100% control where these are placed....you know, relatives....and younger ones who think they rule the world....so...if something high dollar is out there unattended....it is prone to disappear....since no one lives on the property...well....you see where I am going....

if I make it Clampett style....it generally gets left alone...sleeper feeders

Thats why Ultramatic has made provisions on the "Timer" box for a padlock!

I know SW used to sell some of the component parts that are commonly sold with The Timer. I'd be willing to bet that Honey Creek Farms in Burnett was a "The Timer" distributor like Karl's Ultramatic, West Texas Feeder Supply in Odessa and J&L Sales in Cross Plains are.
