I"ve always wondered what I'd do if a cougar came strolling down the trail while I'm on stand. I have an idea, but I haven't had to own up to that yet...
Stare at it slack jawed....at least that's what I did.
THAT is a possibility.
Morning Michael. Thanks...
The place I've been hunting is supposed to have a big cat or two that visits on occassion. The owner told me to take it out if I see it, but not to put myself at risk. The sitings over there are rare at best though. We'll see.

It wasn't so much the walk back from the stand so much as it was the 11pm walk back to the stand later that night. I had to walk through an area with a bluff on each side of the road, and as I walked by the hair on the back of my neck stood straight up!
I hope I get a chance at one. But, not before I get a little caught up on bills. I'd like to either cape(?) mount it or do a full body. I guess that'd be as close to trophy hunting as I could bring myself without feeling guilty.
