        Transmission

My cousin has an older F150 extended cab with a V-6 that did not come with a tow package. He added the WD/Sway bars, electric brake controller, and the transmission oil cooler and pulls a 28 foot Keystone Bunkhouse with no problems. He pulls his 2-4 times a month and been doing so for 2+ years. During deer season, he puts his 4 wheeler in the bed of the truck while pulling the travel trailer and still no problems.

My father has the exact same truck that I do, 4X4 Z-71 with the factory installed tow package, WD/sway bars, and electric brake controller. He pulls a 24 foot, 5800 pounds empty weight, and is retired. My parents live out of their rv and travel often. My dad pulls his often and been doing so with this truck for 5+ years with no problems.

Both of our trucks also have the tow haul mode. Something can always happen with any travel trailer/truck combination. I am not planning on using overdrive but will be using the factory installed tow haul mode so hopefully like my father, this should prevent any transmission issues.

I appreciate everyone's input into the matter. I have made my mind up on the brand, just trying to narrow down between 2 different floor plans.
