1 yo birthday party suggestions needed!!

Living in Houston is great for a lot of things, and we aren't hurting for older children activity centers here. However, finding a place to throw a 1yo birthday party is a whole nother ball of wax! Places like chuck e cheese is more for 5yos and up who wont wig out at the site of a 6' mouse. I need help and fast! . his birthday is the 24th and we cant find anything!! our house is too small and clean up isa a factor

Anything but Disney World......we did that and everything was scary for her! Too be honest they don't know the difference. Back yard event is probably your best bet so the baby crib is nearby!

A lot of churches will "rent" out the use of their fellowship hall, gym, or rec center with a donation to the church. If you have a church home, check there first. You could reserve a back room at a restaurant, but I would put down a cheap vinyl table cloth under where your little one will be eating the cake. Or, have it at a family members house...out in the backyard. Let them eat cake and ice cream, then let them all run through the sprinkler. It will water the yard AND shower off all the sticky! Good luck!

What about George Bush Park. In west Houston with a playground and a large covered pavillion. And FREE!

I disagree about Chuck E Cheese. We had our son's first birthday there and had no problems. Best part was we had nothing to clean up. It was the easiest party we had. Of course at 1 my son had no idea what was going on, but some of the older kids there really enjoyed it.

My daughter is turning one on the 9th and we're setting up a little sprinkler system, but like you said that wont work for you. But, I agree most of the party is more for the parents than the kids. Just make sure there are party hats and a cake for them to smoosh their face in!

                      1 yo birthday party
Stay home and invite family over.
Get a huge tarp and set the high chair in the center.
Place 1 yo in a diaper only in high chair
place cake and ice cream on the tray.
Sit back and watch the fun.

Take lots of pictures and video.
It's a blast right up until you have to give 1 yo a bath.

Thanks for the help guys .

we were looking online last night for ideas and came across a place with animals to feed. does that sounds like things older kids would enjoy while eating cake and ice cream as well?

That is what we are doing for our daughter in a couple of weeks. Just family and a couple of friends. Just cake and ice cream and video.

our house wont accommodate all the people we have coming because it is a townhome, no parking, and not enough room to seat my family of 7, much less friends. the house is out.

x2...and save your money and start the college fund. You can just wrap empty boxes of tissue paper, they're gonna be playing with the box no matter what is inside.
