You have not lived until you have experienced the exhilaration of drawing your bow on a deer or hog. When that time comes you'll know what I am talking about.

Welcome! Plenty of good folks on here.

Welcome to the fire. I love how you have learned so much so fast. I mean to already be laying the ground work for a new bow purchase before you even have your current bow set up is GENIUS! I've gotta learn to use that kind of thing on my wife.

                        Welcome aboard!

Welcome. From somebody in liberal-land that the Texans on TBH have welcomed like one of their own.

Your bow, tuned-up and shooting sharp broadheads combined with perfect practice will take-down any animal you'll hunt in Texas. The major difference between your bow and the new ultra-fast ones is how far into the dirt the arrow goes when it comes out the other side. (Said tongue-in-cheek by a guy who's out of work, but true none the less). I elk hunted with a great guy from Minnesota who had shot 11 elk by that point (he shot the 12th the day I left) and he had a nice 3d bow at home, and hunted with an old, beat-up Bear with no sight and a glove on his hand. He liked simple as simple could get.

For a new bowhunter, I'd suggestion archery lessons to learn correct form the 1st time, and to avoid un-learning bad form later. Second, while not required in TX, take the IBEP Bowhunter Education class and you'll learn a whole-lot in the course.
