I booked a trip to fish off Marthas vineyard 6 months ago.I planned the perfect time and guide for the perfect trip. However you can never pick the weather! We got there last sunday only to find rain and high winds. My fishing days were not until tuesday and wednesday so I hoped it would get better.Tuesday came only to see more rain and wind.We went out but the water was murky and the waves were crazy. SO NO FISH! The next days forecast was better, so with a good lobster dinner and clam chowder to die for we went to sleep hopeful. When we got up the wind had laid and the rain had stopped. When we got to the dock in Menemsha it was right out of a postcard!

The first place we came to the guide said things looked good.He wasnt kidding! We started with flyrods and were catching stipers up to 15#.
After a dozen or more he asked if we wanted to go try for some big ones.I told him lets hit it!When we got there the tide wasnt right but hit another spot with good results knocking down a dozen more with a larger average. Finally when the tide was right we started jigging over some rock piles and caught black sea bass. What is this I asked, "bait" he said.
He told us to free spool them and when we feel a bump, bump.Let them take the line then start reeling and let the circle hook eat.It wasnt 5 seconds when we were both hooked up.My buddie's was 28# and mine was 45" and 38#.
after that I went to the fly and caught my best on fly tackle of 20#
When we quit we left fish but were just to tired to reel anymore. We had caught some where between 50 and 60 fi*****his was what I was hoping for and MORE!
