Is it too late to plant some food plots??? What would you recommend if I am not going to disc up the soil? I mowed areas to plant this year but never got around to discing it up. What should I plant??? Also, I am in Freestone County near Richland chambers Lake to give you an idea of soil type. Trinity River bottom land......any help????

If you're not going to till it up, don't expect much to come up. It's not too late to till and plant, and you will have much better results.
You can plant a mix of wheat, oats, clover, rye, vetch. Several seed dealers will have a "deer mix" that will contain some of all this (and more).
I just don't recommend it if you aren't going to prepare the seed bed. You'll be wasting your money. You also need to do a soil test to determine what amendments you may need to add to really be successful. The soil test is cheap, and will take a lot of guess work out.

How do you plan on planting? Broadcast or drilling it in? If you are drilling it you don't have to tear the soil up. Whatever you plan on planting I would make sure and mix Winter Peas into the mix. They will grow in any type of soil, help with nitrogen on whatever else you plant and the deer love them.
