Any Direct Buy members on here?

My wife is wanting to join direct buy so we can save all this money they claim to save you. Is it worthwhile to join or is it just a scam to get my membership dues? Also, is it name brand stuff you buy, or is it cheap made knockoffs that they sell for less?

Have you been to the orientation meeting yet?
Google "Direct buy" and see all the negative stuff that comes up.
After all is said and done, I think you would have to replace everything in your house for it to pay off.

My step-sister joined when they built their home, but she never actually said if it was worth the money, overall. I do know it's like $3,500 and if you leave the orientation without joining, you can never join. I would steer clear, personally. I don't like ultimatums.

Definatly not worth it. I have an uncle who just joined because he is building a house and his wife talked him into it. Just an endless moneypit from what they say.

My parents joined, I think they paid $5000 and all the items they wanted were always sold out. They finally got their money back.

I've had several customers join that had problems getting stuff they wanted in a timely fashion.

A very close friend of mine owns 3 of them in California. I'll just say, he is a VERY wealthy guy because of those stores.

Dont give them your number, they will call endlessly, even after you tell them to take you off of there call list.

Thanks guys, thats kinda what I figured. If you could save 45-50 grand on a house, everybody would be a member.

Thanks for the thread and info! As we prepare to build our new home this is something we talked about. Glad to get the TBH braintrust involved.

My niece went the "Direct BUy" route against family advice. Fee was @ $4500.00 to join. No real bargains that a builder could not already get for you at a lower cost and no hassles.

Robin talked me into going to the orentation when we built our house 5 years ago.
let me put it this way --I went-I sit-I listened- i left.
No one is telling i have to give them 4000 now. that im not going to take some time to think on it.
In the end our contractor got us as good of deals on everything except the cabinets.
Im like Audra, dont try to force me into something that involves money.

                              Scam....from what I hear.

I went and in the end, it just turned into a high pressure sales pitch....even if I would have saved money, I was too turned off by the process.
