Minimal information is all you need, names of parties and addresses, DL's if parties are comfortable with it. Might I take this opportunity to note that all my guns were destroyed in a miniature tornado.

Won't happen unless it is stolen.

If they were to run a serial number on it, unless it was reported stolen, it will never come up as being registered to anyone.

The main thing is to save the make and s/n for the report.....I got a S&W 36 back after about 8 years from the local PD taken from Pop's blazer. You wouldn't believe the guns scheduled for destruction due to unknown owners. It was sad. They had pics of collectors & cheapies with the chop saw when I went to pick it up. Their inventory was crazy too.

As almost everyone else said, there is no registration. You couldn't register it if you wanted to because there is no such thing (in Texas).

AS long as you get a receipt with name and address (TXDL would be great) along with the serial # and the price you paid, then you are good. Do not worry about the reg. thing because when the STORM TROOPERS get going they will start with all of the people who have registered guns. For myself all of my guns were stolen last night mister "G" man.

I don't own any, so no need to register them.

Register a gun?? Don't know why..

Just get a bill of sale with name and signature of seller and you should be fine. Thats all I did with the (1) gun I own..

Thanks for the info on buying/selling a gun. But it's a little late for me. I sold all my guns at the last gun show to an "arab" looking fellow...
