    AR-15 coon light?

I know, bowhunting...but this is the campfire, right?

Pics of my current setup (one of them anyway, this one is a Bushmaster). Want to coon hunt for obvious reasons, see below. I'm going to switch out the front grip to "First Samco M44 Four-Rail Handguard Set for Carbines" on the Bushmaster web site.

So I need a light. Would like some recommendations. Just need something that attaches to Picatinny rail and is reliable. Your experience would be appreciated.

I have the streamlight TL-3 on mine with the push button switch. In complete darkness I can see a good 60 to 70 yds.

My opinion - first things first. Put 4" PVC on the legs (4' sections) to keep the corn in the Remington longer. Coons can't climb the legs and spin the corn out for their buddies.

Streamlight is a good choice. I saw a swatforce the other day mounted up. Guy said it was about $40 and had 95 lumens. Gave off good light.

Here is the same setup with 2" PVC, it was worthless.

The home-made cages were working until they eventualy broke the mesh welds and worked their way inside the cage and started taking naps. I need thicker mesh for the cages.

But we digress, I want to kill, I mean depredate them with my Bushmaster.

I tried 2" at first - It didn't work. With 4", I have never gotten a picture of a coon get to the spinner plate.

          I won't digress any more

I use a Surefire M900A on my supressed AR. It costs around 600, but it is the best I have found.

                      Thanks for all the tips.

Ok, maybe I'll try 4" PVC, but I had given up on the concept of PVC when I tried 2" and it didn't work.

Thanks for the bayonet lug tip, I'll search for lug mounts for lights before I spend $$$ on replacing the front handguard.

Looking at sniper hawg lights now.

                      Thanks everyone.
