    Hunting season dates

Is it just me or does the Texas Parks and Wildlife have the opening dates wrong, or do the seasons start this year on Sundays? Trying to schedule a few trips and saw that on website.

Just curious if anyone noticed it.

      What Dates?

Where are you getting this info from?

If you are looking at the Texas Parks and Wildlife webpage, the dates listed are for the 2008-2009 seasons.

Not as of yet. At least not that I could find. Generally speaking, the bow opener has been the first full weekend of October and the rifle has been the first full weekend of November.

Had breakfat w/ the Fed GW yesterday and we did not discuss dates per say, but he mentioned they have not decided on the limit of 12 vs. 15 daily bag limit.

15 would take some days off the back end on our season, so this tells me at least for the South (special whitewing) Zone, no firm dates.

Dove starts Sep 1st. General deer will start first Sat in Nov. (7 th.). Count back 5 weeks and you have Archery opener (Oct. 3rd).

Celebrate her birthday. It's just one weekend of hunting. besides, how many birthdays have you been at the lease?

                        Deer Season Dates?

I couldn't find it listed on the TPWD website... maybe it's there.

My guess for the Post Oak Savanah here in Central Texas is:

Bowseason Deer : Sat Oct 3 thru Sun Nov 1st ?

Gunseason Deer : Sat Nov 7 thru Sun Jan Jan 3rd?

                        Does anyone know?

Bow season in the Post Oak Savannah, and most of Texas, is Sat Oct 3 through Fri Nov 6. There is no break between bow and gun anymore.

We have a winner. No more break between archery and general season. And now with x-bows in archery season, it's getting closer to also being part of general season...
