...if it is the bowl of a clay pipe, the design is called "the four winds" and was used by plains indians and others...you should google "four winds peace pipe" or something along those lines...I actually have one that I purchased on a reservation with the same pattern as yours...good luck..dennis

...and legdog posted a fine example of the four winds pipe...each ring represents one of the 4 directions, N, E,S,W.....a really neat find! Commonly found in the Wind River range in Wyo. with Shoshone and Sioux...but also found with Choctaws in Texas!

ranch is in southern gonzales county.
i thought is was pretty cool, but johnny i would rather have found one of those knife blades you got a while back.
