    AR 15 sling suggestions.

I'm looking for a new sling for my calling AR15. I am looking to carry the gun around on 6-10 mile predator calling hikes. Any suggestions on type and maker of sling to research for my needs? I will be hiking with a shotgun and an AR15.

The Vickers is a good sling.

I think this is the one I have on mine:http://cheaperthandirt.com/ARR016-7.html It's either that one or the Ultimate that they sell. I was thinking mine was called the Ultimate, but unless they've modified its design since I bought mine 5 or 6 years ago, that's not it. Any way, ignore the reviews, they are not difficult to put on, and mine gets more use for your intended purpose than anything else. When I was predator hunting a lot, that's the way I rolled, 12ga. and AR15. Can't say I ever took that far of a walk though. I'm envious and Good Luck!

I made one for my AR from 2" wide webbing and buckles from Ace Hardware.
The design and instructions were on an AR web site called "AR15.com".
Title: Make your own TAC sling". It converts into 4 ways to carry including on the back like a backpack.
Have fun. Cost for parts was approx: $10.00

Viking Tactics, if your walking that much, spend the extra $5 for the padded version. The padding will make a difference when humping a heavy rifle all day. The Vickers sling is similar, but the tag end doesn't adjust as easy.

Vickers or the Viking Tactics. I use the Viking but both are good two point slings.

Does anyone have experiance with the outlaw sling for the AR?

The viking tac. slings look really good. Thats were i'm leaning right now.

I had a single point sling on my ar and liked how it would hang vertical at my side freeing my hands but be careful not to poke the muzzle into the ground.

One point slings have their place but I wouldn't want to go on a hike with one. A good two point sling is a better overall choice for multiple applications.

Three point tactical sling so it can hang on your chest while you hump other gear yet is at the ready.
