I think they use amonia to clean and sanitize inside the process piping and equipment. SS tanks and such.

I've been in that plant. That's why I don't eat Slim Jims...

The plant is/was fairly old. They do/did have ammonia refrigeration.

There are no smokers... they use liquid smoke and the whole place reeks of it.

I pray for the folks who were injured and those who died and are missing, especially their families. I just hope my friend Doug wasn't there when it happened.
