I've had great luck with the Kingstons and Apacers although any listed below should be fine....we can't use any bigger than 2MB on the Scoutguards

Thanks Smart...I have to use the 2gb cards also. Bestbuy didn't have any in stock so I am thinking about trying the sandisk cards.

Sandisk are usually the most expensive.... especially at the retail stores or at least that is what I ahve found. If you want to spend the extra money that is fine....but it's like buying a Sony TV versus a Samsung, Toshiba, Vizio etc....they all work....somebody's name is just worth a little more to them.

And watch out for SanDisk on Ebay.....I've heard there are some big scams going on with large shipping charges for ultra cheap cards....

In the captures, you should only use kingston or pny and make sure you format every time before you put them back in (fat32). Kmart has two pny 2gb for 14.99, thats a pretty good price, otherwise go to newegg.com and get the kingston for like 5 or 6 bucks. Captures are good cams if you just follow the golden rule, Format FAT32. Mine are doing great!

Ok, I will try the pny. Doesn't the camera format the cards for you when you put the cards in?

Dont know, good question, I tried some other offbrands and it would not recognize them.
Guess cuddeback had to be different and make things difficult, if it was not for the quirky card situation they would be flawless. Sandisk worked as well, but after talking to cuddeback they said that the two mentioned are the only ones that have not encountered problems. may be bs but I dont want to have any problems 6 hours from home.

Blue Tick, No the camera will not format them. These cameras work great and have some of the best pics. They are the fastest trigger under 300.00. What I do is get 2 cards and put "cb-fat32" on them-so you never forget, never use these cards in anything but the captures and your computer, once you have downloaded the pics reformat to FAT32-do this every time and you will avoid problems. These will not recognize any other format. Just switch cards in the field. These are the best "trail" cams not named reconyx. You will enjoy them. I have not noticed a specific brand work better as far as batteries. I get alot of duracell here at the hospital so thats what I use, hope this helps.

If i was you i would go to the site CuddeBack site and use a SD card that they say works with the camera.
They tested a few and posted a table showing what cards will work. Dont get a SDHC CARD.

Here is a little something from cuddeback site.
Non Typical recommends Sandisk SD cards. They are priced well, save images very fast, and are of high quality. Do NOT use Kingston brand cards, they are not working well with our cameras for some reason. DO NOT USE SD Cards greater the 2 GB. Non Typical recommends the 1 GB size.
