    questions about a pup

My wife and I just picked up a pup from a guy here on the forum, he's a good dog, little bit michevious (he is still a pup). My question is he only goes to the bathroom about once a day. He hasn't gone yet today either. He's about 5 months old, and he was an outside dog. Now he is an inside dog, but this potty thing has me a little worried. Any help greatly appriciated. How can I get him to go?

Unless you have eyes on him every single minute I bet he's going somewhere! I'm raising a pup right now, it doesn't take them long.

Ain't that the truth!! my new pup just pee'd while I was reading this tread...1st thing is every time that dog gets up from a nap..take it outside..after it eats take it outside...if it cocks its head and looks at you take it outside...good luck

keep an eye on it's water intake. Need to make sure it is drinking. You might want to take it to it's water bowl a few times to make sure it is drinking. Not drinking would be the only reason I could think of why it is not going to the bathroom.
Also, I noticed someones idea of training. I had a breeder tell me about the bell on the door and it has worked better than anything I have ever tried. Granted I was training 2 at the time and maybe that helped. Each time they got up, I would walk them to the door, ring the bell a few times(hanging from the knob) then open the door and let them out. I swear, it could not have been more than a week and they were going and ringing the bell to let me know they needed outside.

When it does go just the one time what is it? Urine or feces? I say the same make sure that pup is drinking and eating, if he is he should be doing both, other wise you may want to get checked by vet.

Wish I had that problem. Seems like my 10 week old pup pees every 5 to 10 minutes.

Hopefully one of the TBH vets will see this.
