    Bow String Replacement

I shoot a diamond black ice that is about 2 years old. How often should I change the shooting string? About how much do the replacement strings cost.

    Thanks,

I shoot a black ice also. I shoot A LOT. I have had this bow for about a year and replaced the string twice, the second time the guy at the pro shop thinks it was a bad cable. I use winners choice strings and cables so it is a little over $100 for me. But you shouldn't have to replace them more than once a year depending on how much you shoot.

      replacement

I change my stings out about every two years. There are a couple of guys off Archery talk that will makes great string and cables for under $100. Bucknasty H&M Bowsting, Pro-Line, Little Jon Bowsting. Look under Classified adds/ stings/cams .
Any of them will make you a great sting.. I have used Bucknasty and I can tell you that his work is top notch...

I replace mine when I start to see obvious wear on the servings, or the strings start to fray and waxing them does not do the job. Or when I'm taking out an arrow from the quiver to nock it while waiting for hogs and I nick my cable in the Y in the yoke and 1/2 the strands get cut
