Talk about a different perspective

I was my daughter's ballet class this afternoon when this lady was asking this young guy about his parents. Long story short, this kid's parents are both sick. And I mean the kind of sick you don't like talking about. Anyways, he was talking to this lady about all the machines, treatments and surgeries his parents are going through. He later explains that he has 200 bucks on him to feed his ( and he said his) family for 2 weeks. He apparantly had come home from school to take care of them and his 4 year old sister. So he is playing Man of the house and big brother taking care of her while paying the bills, working and cooking and cleaning.

This kid is 20 years old and talk about having to grow up fast!! Kinda took me back a little. And here I am stressing about my wife being on bedrest for the remainder of her pregnancy. Yeah it's tough dealing with that, but I can only imagine what this young man is thinking right now. Right in the beginning of entering his prime age.

It's made me think this evening. I really have to applaud this guy.

This young man has his **** together! I too applaud him!

My daughters boyfriend is in that group as well. His mother left him and his sister years ago and his dad is not really there either. This young man works two F/T jobs to put his older sister through nursing school and support himself. The world needs more young folks like these young men.
