help connecting laptop to hdtv

well i recently purchased me a samsung 32in 780p hdtv that really looks stunning. . i connected my laptop to it the other day with an hdmi cable and got the video to work but no audio .. does anyone know how i can do this? i already tried an rca stereo jack but nothing. anyone? please

hdmi is audio and video, so i dont know. sounds like it should have worked.

I replied to your post, then re-read your question and realized that I misinterpreted your problem. Don't know how to delete...sorry for the wasted space.

hdmi carries both a and v so you probably have to turn your sound all the way up on your laptop and it still may not be very loud.

It could be your sound card in the laptop.

Ohhhh... Alright! Yay! I got it working.. Hmmmmmm.. Samsung hdtv has 3 hdmi ports. One which also is dvi/hdmi. So i moved the hdmi to that port and wooollllahhhhh! =] there goes the volume =] thanks anyway guys and gals

yeah spud .. according to some research i have been doing most people were saying that the sound or video card might not be compatible or capable,. but hey mine is now =]..

its nice to see tbh on my tv =]
