            Drank a few beers and chased some honeys there. It was a better time.

              [QUOTE=zztex;16795409]Lol!

              You haven’t lived unless you’ve been in G’s Icehouse on a Thursday afternoon payday and seen the guy behind the check cashing counter with his machine gun!

              Back in the day I worked the 3-11 shift and we got paid on Thursday night. We always went to G's and cashed our checks had a few beers and a burger. Sherwood would be in the back corner doing the books and his wife worked the bar. Got slung off the mechanical bull out front many many times! They said it was the same one used in the movie, Good times.

                      Back in the day, it seemed like the mutt's were more fun.

                          Pretty sure that was Sherwood's brother with the uzi. He kept it in the trunk of his car with a briefcase full of money that was used for cashing payroll checks. $1 per a hundred on the check cashing fee. He would grab the gun and briefcase to walk in. Always had some old faded bib overalls on and a white tee shirt. Nice guy.

                          I cashed quiet a few checks in there. Sherwood signed a book about Gilley's and a Gilley's tee shirt and gave them to me to give to my son while I was at the bar drinking one evening. I had told him that my little one enjoyed the movie. If he liked you that was always a good thing

                                No.

                                It’s definitely iconic and was great in its time, but dang to watch it now it’s just ridiculous.
