    Tent With AC Port- Recommendations

I'm ready for the banter, I know I am a sissy

I cant sleep when it is hot, and recently joined a hill country lease where I plan on tent camping. I didn't hunt much last year due to the heat, but i now see there are tents that accept window units.

What do you recommend as far as a tent that has an ac port, and can be set up by 1 person if needed? There are only 2 of us, so a huge tent isn't needed, but enough room for us and our gear.

So far i have seen the Ozark Trail brands, but am leery of the quality of anything made by Walmart.

Ill also take any recommendations on camp accessories that make tent life easier (cooking, lighting, mattress...etc).

A portable room AC just needs a dryer hose vent outside that can go in any tent.

What's your budget. There are Ozark Trail and then then are guide style wall tents. $200-$2000

I use an ozark trail tent. I only use it about twice a year when I go float the river, but I’ve had it about 7 years and it’s still in great shape. Big enough to fit two queen air mattresses and still move around. It also pops right up without having to install any poles, so one person set up is no problem. Mine doesn’t have the a/c port, but just set the window unit on a short plastic outdoor table that I bought at dollar general, and it blows throw the netting. I’ll sometimes put a box fan in front of it to blow the cold air out a little more.

My advice is find a small cheap travel trailer.

Just buy a used tear drop camper. You can sell it when you're done with it. You'll have the comfort of being at home but not having to buy a whole travel trailer.

Are you going to leave it up throughout the season?

Is so, I suggest plywood on the ground and an army style bunk with a thin mattress if you can find them…much more comfortable than a cot.

I think I have a propane 2 or 3 burner cooking unit that sits on a table. I used it when elk hunting. I’ll check my storage building if you are interested.

I can't help you on a link, other than to tell you to jump on Lowes/Home Depot and look at them. They range from the low $100 on up...quality of the cheaper units I cannot attest to. The Frigidaire unit that we keep around was $300+- and has been used for the past 6-8 years by folks from here in Austin County on over to Lake Charles, La after hurricanes for needed relief while sleeping with generator for power. It won't freeze you out in a room surrounded by a humid hot house, but I bet it'll make you shiver in a small tent

Thanks for the help! Glad to hear the Ozark is working out Bowlife. I never fully trust the online reviews of big box brands.

Ill look into a teardrop, but looking at the tent route as the landowner lives on property and isn't too fond of a camper sitting out next to his house all season. He isn't fully against it, but hes been great and so i try to read between the lines to keep him happy!

I've got a Bushnell pop up with a A/C port. Been very happy with the tent so far. I've got the 99 sf model. They have one that's bigger. Also has a power cord port. And few other amenities.

The fish are biting and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!
