    Tactacam Reveal question

If running the Tactacam solar panel w built in battery, do you need to still run regular AAs in it? My concern is if it's not going to run on the AA batts, they may start to leak inside the cam like batteries sometimes do.

You don’t need batteries in the camera

You can if you wish. Just as a backup in case solar/battery goes south.

Run them without batteries…panel only. Every one of ours runs like this!

That's the main reason I switched to the solar battery packs! Got tired of the dang AA batteries leaking and destroying my cameras. That South Texas heat will swell the best of batteries, especially when they start to run down. Usually, good hot batteries do not corrode (there's no oxide to start the oxidation process).

I think my original Reveal is 3 or 4 years old and has been running with a solar panel the entire time. I’ve never put batteries in it or even touched the camera since installing it. As of today it’s taken 92,987 pictures.
