Kayak launch spots Galveston and surrounding

My kid will be in vacation Bible school this week coming up and I’m off work. Taking a week off every month of summer and request was put in before vbs dates were final. Plan on fishing some new waters. I’ll be staying in Galveston Thursday to Sunday at a buddies place and we will fish out normal spots but I’ve plan on going down a couple days before for the day trips or possibly overnight to kayak fish as well solo. (Mom-we’d) All the spots I know of in the area require a boat. I miss getting out in the kayak. Looking for spots close to home I have fished Texas City Dike some in the past it’s been years. Looked up sportsman in Galveston as it’s the only places I’ve launched there and it’s closed. I’m open to anything from Tx city Galveston, bolivar etc. these may just be day trips and coming back home in the evening so really don’t want to make the extra hour drive to Matagorda that I’m familiar with.

Any tips? Thanks also if anyone wants to meet up let me know, all my friends i fish with work during the week.

You can launch on the bayside by the pass. Not in the pass but more in bay.

You could launch at Louis on Highway 6 and fish the Highland Bayou Marsh. I think they charge even for launching a kayak, but I'm sure it's pretty cheap.

There's a lot of construction around there so not sure if it's open, but there is a free public boat ramp on the mainland side of the causeway at the Tiki Island exit. Could launch there and fish Jones Lake or hit the canal lights at Tiki at night.

Where is your buddy’s house? That will help narrow down some spots close to you. I’ve fished much of the bay systems down there and have different locations based on tide, etc

They are on Galveston bay right by west end marina but this is for a few days solo. They prefer to hang out on the beach and we fish the pier/lights at night. May take boat but he knows the area/ where to go for that in that bay system.
