Got a quote for a CRF110F from Ride Now Austin - what a scam

I reached out to a local Honda dealer looking for a CRF110F. They literally doubled the price with fees. What a freaking scam dealership. Shame on Honda for allowing that to happen as it tarnishes their brand. DMV lol. It isn't a street-driven vehicle. And they quadrupled+ the dest. charge.

What did you think they were gonna do? Drive it off the boat and charge you a couple of hundred bucks? Can you Uncode all those add on charges?

      Get him a KTM….

MSRP already includes a markup for the business selling it.

Well considering these come crated and require very little in the way of setup i was expecting maybe 400-500 for "setup" costs plus the $200 destination charge. I don't think that's unreasonable. Doubling the price, marking up the dest charge 4x, and charging DMV fees for a non street driven dirt bike seems kind of, I don't know, ripoff-ish? The reality is that some people must just pay this or they wouldn't do it. I won't, however, so I'll just have to try elsewhere or do without. I imagine all dealers are doing this.

That right there is the root cause of the problem. I mean look at trucks, boats, UTVs, anything. People whine to no end about how expensive things are, but then happily bend over to get that fancy new toy. These days if you try to be fiscally responsible, you're the outlier, and the dealer knows it. Why sell to you for a reasonable price when some sucker living on cheap credit will come get screwed?

Very true. But at the same time there are those who like to brag about paying a lot for a vehicle or toys. Even if they don't brag, they like to show them off, knowing a lot of people know about what it costs to own such toys. When enough of those people exist, the dealers win. You won't get them to not mark toys up a lot, when they know there are guys who will pay it.

                I’d shop a Temple/Waco dealer

I don't understand the destination and dmv charge?
What do those mean with regards to this motorcycle?

It’s not just them, it’s every dealership. I come across the same issues in NTX
I’ve just started buying slightly used dirtbikes for my son instead of looking at new

And people keep paying their rip off prices !
Only gonna get worse. Assembly and delivery was never a fee until the fake supply and demand issue came around.

lmao $760 to transfer the title and $488 for setup? That's half the MSRP of the bike. You might point that out on a Google review, that's ridiculous. I bought a used Street Triple from Alamo Cycleplex years ago, they tried to hit me with a setup charge... on a used bike. I balked and the manager came in and explained they changed the oil and did a full maintenance and tune up so I went ahead and completed the transaction and walked outside and pulled the dipstick and spark plug. Oil was black as tar and plug clearly old, so I walked back inside and raised a stink loudly about being lied to and fraud etc. They ended up knocking off another $1,000 and having to redo all the paperwork.
