Great News for Western Public Land Access

A wealthy Wyoming land owner had sued the four Missouri men, who were found not guilty in a criminal case, seeking $7.75 million.

This certainly appears to be a blow to landowners seeking to cut off public land access that borders other public land via a corner.

Never understood how they could do that without some kind of easement in place.

Very interesting. It seems like the landowner should have just let it go. But now that he pursued it, there will likely be even more people hunting that land. Greedy bastage.

That's great news. Trying to claim trespassing when no one stepped foot on your land is some special kind of bs.

Good out come. If it went the other way, many sections would no longer be public.

100% Even worse, many use landlocked public as their own.

I think it was some BS about how their access 'devalued' his land.

I figured they shot an elk on BLM land and he wanted $7M for shooting "his" animal lol.

Good news. This was a dumb case. I'm glad justice prevailed in both the criminal and civil courts.

I'm hoping for 10 thousand hippies to throw an annual peace party on that checkerboard land right next to the guy's property. Serves him right.
