    Deer Eat Yellow Squash?

I have grown yellow squash for 40 years and never had deer hurt them. Maybe a few leaves now and then but no problem. I have 12 massive hills of squash that were darn near waist high. Loaded with first crop and I planned to pick a 3 gallon bucket full yesterday.

Well, 4 mature bucks decided they like squash. They pulled every single squash Sunday. Yesyerday, they came back and ate all the leaves. Sorry suckers..

You need to run off all those mature bucks before they eat everything else in the garden. Just make sure they go my way!

That’s why I don’t eat yellow squash, because my meat eats it for me. I kill two food groups with one helping of fried backstrap!

Lol! If they will eat a few onions to go with them now, I'll get the grease hot.

Dang deer have never bothered my squash before.

I seen them eat peas but not squash either. They saw yellow and thought it was corn!

Had fresh fried garden squash tonight. Those bucks better watch out or they will be on hit list in four months or so!

I don’t know about deer but my tribe will. Had a fish fry Monday and fried about 15 lbs of crooknecks along with fish, taters, okra, few squirrels and some Wagu fajitas on the grill. They wiped the squash out.

Never seen them eat squash leaves like that but they will get the squash itself.

You don’t have a fence around your garden??

Useless to start one here without a good fence.

I'm sure they did but I have literally seen the 2 foxes in the garden and one run off with a squash in their mouth.
