Houston Polaris Ranger mechanic

Any recs for a reputable Ranger mechanic on the South Houston area that wont rip me off?

My 2012 800 crew wont go over 20 MPH. I bought this used a few months ago and have just been using it for chores and stuff on my small property. Well yesterday I decided to open it up on the road and it wouldnt get over about 20 MPH. It would just kinda bog and not go any faster. It seems well taken care of and only has 250 hrs and runs fine other than that.

Do yall have any ideas on this one? Or can recommend a good mechanic in the area?

I know this sounds stupid, but do you have the seat belt on?

^^^Yeah, there is a built in safety feature unless it’s been bypassed. If not, let me know. I have an extra bypass plug or two laying around I can either mail or hand to you.

The 2012 800 does not have a seatbelt safety feature.

I made this post last week on a Ranger forum but havent gotten many replies. I copied and pasted it here today. Since that post I ran it again and the check engine light came on and it seemed to hesitate upon take off.

No help on the mechanic but might be the fuel pump, I believe it’s a common issue and pretty easy to replace. Side note a buddy of mine bought a Honda SXS and was ****** it wouldn’t go over 20 mph….. seat belt got him [emoji23]

My 2014 800 goes 40 with no belts plugged in. Thats plenty for me!!
