    Toe Fusion

Anyone here on the green screen had their big toe fused, or have experience with someone who has? Doc is recommending fusion after a year of unsuccessful treatments.
He claims I can run a marathon after the fusion if I wanted.

Reminds me of that really old vaudeville-era joke:

“So doc, after this hand surgery, will I be able to play the violin?

    “yes you will!!”

“Awesome- I’ve always wanted to play the violin!”

Sorry no help with the toe - good luck to you

I needed that but had no insurance at the time.

Ended up just calling a tow truck.

Wondering what fusing a toe will do. It will just make it rigid I would think. If it’s painful and will get rid of the pain do it.

I shoot Federal Fusion in my 6.8, it’s good stuff ! It may make your toe more accurate when you kick somebody’s azz !

What kind of injury or disease are you trying to address?

In 2019, i think. I dropped a semi trailer door on my left foot. I shattered the bone closer to my foot on my big toe, and broke the 2 toes next to it. I went to a podiatrist in Greenville. He opted to not do surgery to correct it. The bone in my big toe didn't fuse all the way and they're all still numb. The tire next to my big toe healed in an arch. If I'm standing flat footed those toes don't touch the floor. The Dr says that wouldn't adversely effect my walk or running. He went on you say that in the future if I decided to have them fused he recommended that they fuse the joint NOT at my foot. I haven't had that done and they don't seem to bother me too much.

I am dealing with a combination of arthritis and a torn plantar tendon. Doc said if I was younger they would repair the tendon, I’m 50. He used Patrick Mahomes as an example when he had his tendon surgically repaired. He was 24 and winning Super Bowls. I’m 50 and watch Super Bowls. 😏
Right now I struggle to walk anywhere, but am still nervous about the whole idea of the fusion surgery. Doc assured me that if the toe is fused it means no movement in the joint which equals no pain.

                  What are we…Toefuscious?

If it’s such a miracle, why didn’t he suggest it a year ago?

They did mention it at the beginning. Doc said with fusion surgery "patience grasshopper" is the key.
I guess this is just the joys of getting old after abusing your body for the last 50ish years.

Was the tire still able to perform, and roll properly?
                      Hopefully it healed toetally .

have a fused finger. Can no longer make a fist with left hand. I give the two thumbs up and a right now...lol
Good luck with what ever you do. It is weird not to be able to bend a digit.
