I don’t know anything about tools but I would recommend getting Gearwrench brand from Amazon, they have ratcheting wrenches and static combination wrenches. Gearwrench has an excellent warranty as well and are good quality.

Reversible ratchet wrenches are also nice.

Both. I’ve got Tekton also. Add in an impact -Milwaukee or dewalt. Those are a life saver for removing bolts.

Listen to Radar!! He knows a lot for a guy that don't know much!!
Those gearwrench pass thru socket sets/ratchets are the most used hand wrenches I own!! Mine are old Craftsman with both 1/4 and 3/8 drives. They are VERY low profile and will fit places where a normal rathet/socket or even the ratchet wrenches will not fit.

I have straight up combination wrench sets, ratcheting wrench sets, flex head ratchet wrench sets with some of the ratcheting wrenches with selector for tight/loosen, some flat that you just flip over... I find more use for the pass thru sockets than any of them.

I’ve been very happy with my Gearwrench set. I can destroy some tools, but so far these have outperformed expectation…I don’t put cheater pipes on them though, or haven’t yet.

I'd say Ratcheting wrenches for most task. Keep your mix match set for when needed.

Get both. I've got a large assortment of wrenches. A man can't ever have enough tools.

Good "swivel-head ratchet" wrenches work wonders. Only thing about ratchetheads is the size of the outside of the head. Some are thinner than others, just like regular wrenches. And it can make a difference in getting a wrench into a tight spot, or strength. Go quality for longativity. I'd also suggest never using any kind of mallet or hammer for extra "Umph" .

Smart man! By bust your knuckles when you don’t have too.
