Anyone have any good ways to do this? No spray area. I was thinking machete. In put on a solid machete would also be appreciated.

Clearing cedar saplings question

Years ago I cleared a small small area that had young very straight saplings growing under some big oaks in junction….we used a weed eater with a blade on it. Very similar to a circular saw blade.
I recall doing my best not to get the blade into a bind.
These sapling were about 3-4 inches in girth.
We also used a small tree pruning chainsaw but the weed eater was nice that you didn’t have to bend over and could ‘reach in there’

Limp loppers, chainsaw or weedeater with a chainsaw looking blade
Be glad it ain’t mesquite. Those have to be poisoned.

Even more disappointing is those clippers are “currently unavailable” and they don’t know if they will be back. Those seemed like exactly what I wanted.
At this point BT’s suggestion of renting a brush cutting weed eater may be the best option.
We have mo’ plenty mesquite but I just keep it under control because it’s about where I want it.

I'm assuming this is not red cedar. If it is you must remove the root system to kill it.
If it's juniper cedar, make sure you cut below the lowest green limbs otherwise you are wasting your time. I use a tool similar to the looper that you looked at. Home Depot has them, Fiskars Model 92346935K...
Good luck,
tending the fire,
