    DU banquet in Boerne

I've never been to one of these before but got an invite. I went to get a beer and found they only have Anheuser Busch beers and Coke products. I don't think I'm gonna fit in.

Wait, the night is saved! They just now brought out some warm Lonestar and LS Light!

DU banquets used to have an open bar , is that not the case anymore? I haven’t been to one in years

Depends on the chapter and if they have sponsors or not. We are sponsored by Anhauser Busch. We always have several beers free and open bar whiskey drinks at our events here in Katy.

They do, but all they had was a huge selection of AB products and Coke products for mixed drinks. Somebody went out and bought some Lonestar, it's warm but it'll do.

So what you're saying is that nobody wanted any of that tranny fluid?

The dude at the bar said he tried to tell them, guess they got some complaints. Lots of LSB cans on the tables now.

****I’m not an AB drinker, never have been ****

Despite their recent liberal stance, AB has historically been a friend to conservation organizations. Our DU chapter gets a few pallets of free beer and banquet signs donated every year by them. Hard to not accept that much free beer, no matter what they have done. We always purchase a lot of other beer but that hits the bottom line. This year, at the end of the night, we had a ton of Bud and Bud Light remaining. Couldn’t even give it away, lol. My son has been using a lot of it for target practice, works for me.

What hurts the bottom line is when somebody doesn't spend $1000 on a raffle package because they're annoyed that their only options are AB beer.

I used to go to all of the DU events, NWTF, etc , and I had plenty of overpriced guns to prove it ! Too many vodka and Sprites will do wonders for your pocketbook !

I thought that was the reason for the open bar was to get the cash flowing

I’ve won more stuff at DU !
I love going to them. The half dressed girls selling raffle tickets are always a welcome sight too.
