Easy read with simple language but pretty captivating

So many interesting subjects on TOT. Like you I feel the need to do a deeper dive on some of the stories.

I just finished reading Taming the Nueces Strip, The Story of McNelly's Rangers by George Durham as told to Clyde Wantland. Good read.

I read it on my kindle. It was dirt cheap if you get it via kindle.
Great read too especially if you like Texas…

I bought it a several years ago after reading Empire of the Summer Moon. I need to pull it out and read it.

I've ready stories about Indian fighting but never from the Indian perspective.

Another great book although it is more historical fiction but great none the less, is Ride the Wind by Lucia St. Clair Robson. Story of Cynthia Ann and Quanah parker.

That is a great read " Captured " by Scott Zesch is another great book along the same lines. I really enjoyed The Boy Captives also, I have heard it is possibly fabricated a little but it was still an enjoyable read.
