    Helicopter hunting accident

Former TCU star fell out while hunting - amazing he is still alive. How could that happen?

I could have sworn I saw a video of someone falling out of a helicopter a few days ago while hog hunting. The camera was attached to the shooter so it followed him all the way down. I wonder if it could have been this guy? THat would certainly be my fear if I ever go do this.

How was he not buckled in?

Terrible event I'm sure. I am also sure something was either missed or failed when it comes to the safety connections. Wishing the guy a full recovery.
I get nervous climbing up the stairs on my blind. I can't imagine falling out of a moving object above the ground. But I am not as young as this fella.

Hope he makes it. I've thought about heli hunting for years and watching videos, its easy to see if you aren't strapped in you could lean too far and fall.

Hate to hear it. Some people think I am nuts to catch them with hogs but I promise there is no way you would get me up in a helicopter flying around like crazy to kill some. Hope the young man recovers.

Pretty sure every hunt I have see the shooters were all wearing safety harnesses so either failure of harness or failure to secure harness would be my guess.

Sounds like a long road ahead of him, prayers for healing and comfort

Hopefully he lives and recovers the best possible. This would make for a hell of a story at hunting camp in the future for him, along with his Alamo Bowl comeback win.

How the hail does that happen? I flew in choppers all over Vietnam and made 72 combat assaults, no doors or seat belts, sitting on the floor legs hanging out dangling above the runners with full rucksack sometimes and never once fell out even while blazing away full auto coming in to a hot LZ. Of course I wasn't leaning over to see what was under us either and my butt cheeks had pretty good suction in those days

My brother in law and his best friend did this over south of Dallas somewhere many years ago. They realized halfway through the trip that his friend's harness was never attached to the chopper, and he'd been out on the rail shooting several times already. He's a very lucky man. I don't think he ever told his wife.
