I could have eaten at Crossroads every meal when we went. It was fantastic!
We had lunch at Texas Sunrise one day and it was good. Otto's wasn't bad but it wasn't as mind blowing for me as I was told to expect.
The Nimitz museum was really cool but sooooo much larger than I realized. About 1/2 way through we started skimming rather than looking at everything there. Because we were there during the week, we did a lot of tastings in town and didn't go out to the wineries but we will do that differently next time.
Crossroads, Hondos, Alstadt Brewery, Auslander, The Brewery, Altdorf, Porky's (if they are still open), Friedhelms, Mamacitas, Pecan Grove (out HWY 16 towards Llano). There are others but you won't have time to eat at all these.

These are kinda tourist traps on main street, sunset grill is good breakfast or lunch , so is the bakery
Mamacitas is a must skip IMO
Recently ate at the Austlander and got the Schnitzel Burger. It is basically a crispy fried pork chop burger with spicy mustard. It was pretty freaking good. My favorite store while there was Rsutlin Robs. They had anything you could think of that would go in a mason jar. Different corns, salsas, dips, sauces, cakes, cobblers, etc.
X2 for RR. You’ll buy stuff that you don’t even want it’s so good.
I am in Fredericksburg weekly but try to avoid it if at all possible so of the ones mentioned so far I’ve only eaten at Auslanders. I’ll give you some off the beaten path recommendations. Dutchman’s for a sandwich at lunch. Also get some of their liver sausage. Not the best I’ve had but good. Alamo Springs IMO is a must do. And if feeling frisky go to Comfort and eat at High’s.

Cafe on the ridge and high’s are definitely worth the drive

Not really. Those are most of the restaurants that are in town. The whole town is a tourist trap, if we are being honest. My wife is from there and we visit around 2 times per month.
Another place on Main Street is Cultures. Good food and good bar atmosphere. Alamo Springs is awesome and there is a little bar in Willow City, off the loop, is pretty good. Pecan Grove has a great hamburger and good atmosphere as well. If the Race Barn is open, they are pretty good as well. Also, try the Hangar Hotel. They have a small diner/cafe and it is pretty good. You could also try Hilda's for mexican food. If you want to venture west, head out 87 and stop at Hilltop. You could also go to the Doss Store for a good burger or steak.
