    Bowfishing bow suggestions

I want a new bow for bowfishing. In the past I used an old bear hunting compound and it works but is heavy plus I just want a new one. Problem is I am big and have long arms. Most of what I'm finding is too short in draw length to shoot fingers.

Any suggestions for a 32+ length bow fishing specific compounds or should look at recurves.

    Thanks in advance.

The Ams fish hawk is a good choice.

The Oneida bowfishing bows are top of the line. Lots of guys shoot those. I picked up a pse kingfisher recurve last year and shot some nice gar with it. Extremely light weight

Added benefit to a recurve is if you get a takedown, it's really easy to fly with.

Recurve!!! I too have go-riller arms. I bought an old vintage recurve (Ben Pearson Palomino) and mounted a slotted AMS reel on it. Since that time, I have bought several others and done the same thing. Best bowfishing bows ever! I have half a dozen rigged up like that from when I used to bowfish a lot and used to take folks. They’re indestructible and deadly.

              New or used? Budget?

The discovery bows are one of the best , and can be purchased sub 200. One thing i really like is how strong they are, and when turned below 40lbs they withstand accidental dry fire and not get fubar'd.

I personally shoot a oneida based bow, and it dont get much smoother than those. Downside is you will spend 1k getting it bought and rigged out.

I have 3 discovery d2s, 2 discovery waves for guest, and the 5150 lever bow, plus a couple miscellaneous youth bows for women that dont have the confidence to shoot the others.

I have no idea what your budget is, but Oneida reigns supreme and can accommodate your DL. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Vader, camless lever bow, and they’re more budget friendly with a lifetime warranty. The AMS hooligan would be a good choice if you’re not into lever bows. G-string has cammed and camless lever bows that are really nice, about same price point as Oneida. I don’t have any personal experience with the Muzzy LVX, but based on their reputation I would avoid that one even at a deep discount. I’ve abused the hell out of an old ams fishhawk I bought on here years ago and it finally bought the farm. In the market myself.

Budget is flexible. But I am right when it comes to toys. Thanks for all the replies

I'm 32" draw as well, and can full draw my lever bow, but honestly I do more snap shooting than full draw because I started shooting a heavier arrow. I'm only full tilt on deep fish/big gar, but the river is so shallow that is seldom. Might be different for you if you're lake fishing
